The members of the string quartet are closely related: they are brothers. Tamás received his diploma from the Music Academy of Győr (Hungary), while all the other members – Lóránt, Szabolcs, and Zoltán – graduated from the Music Academy of Vienna. The ensemble was formed by the brothers at the beginning of 1995. Professor Thomas Kakuska, member of the Alban Berg Quartet and professor Sándor Devich, a long time second violinist of the Bartók Quartet, were consultants of the Bozsodi Quartet for many years..
The Bozsodi Quartets´ first spectacular performance was at the Summer Academy near Vienna in 1995, that was organized by three prominent music academies : Prague – Vienna – Budapest. They won the prestigious audience first prize at this Chamber Music Festival and Competition.
The family quartet attended several Dutch and Austrian mastercourses where members of world famous quartets taught them how to enhance the artistic quality of the team: Norbert Brainin, Siegmund Nissel (Amadeus Quartet), Raphael Hyllier(Juillard Quartet), Péter Komlós (Bartók Quartet), Thomas Kakuska (Alban Berg Quartet), Milan Skampa (Smetana Quartet).
Their first own CD featuring works of Mozart String Quartet C Major „Dissonance” and Tchaikowsky String Quartet in E Flat Minor Nr.3 was published in 1999. This was followed by several live performances of Bartok on Hungarian national radio (MR3) in 2003 and 2004. Their second CD together with the famous clarinet player László Horváth (laureate with Liszt prize) features the clarinet quintets of Mozart and Brahms.
The quartet has performed concerts with famous musicians like Ernő Sebestyén (former concertmaster of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the world famous pianist and conductor Tamás Vásáry (laureate with Kossuth prize),the cellist Stefan Metz (Orlando Quartet).
